This religious organization provides meals, housing, counseling and other help to people who are homeless or needy in other ways.

Habitat for Humanity
They have a program for people 16 and older (http://habitatcharlotte.org/volunteer_individual.cfm) and one for people less than 16 years old (http://habitatcharlotte.org/volunteer_youth.cfm). People who are more than 16 but younger than 18 have to bring a signed release from their parents.
Humane Society of Charlotte
Volunteers can do a variety of jobs related to the animals, but people 10-17 have to have their parents with them the whole time.
